The machine came from the BMW museum in Munich and was claimed to be the TT winning engine, but evidence indicates it was more likely Jock West's machine.
Jock West the English rider, later sales manager at AMC motorcycles associated with the racing team first rode for BMW in 1937...
Interesting the two photos titled for the 1937 Senior IOM TT with Jock West and both have different frame configurations...one a rigid rear end, the other with a plunger rear suspension.

He then took the Australian land speed record for motorcycles in September 1957 with the same machine...
Dickie Dale obtains the ex Jack Forrest Rennsport...owned by Doug Fugger.
